About Baker's Game Solitaire
Baker's Game Solitaire is the grandparent of FreeCell, described by the puzzle columnist Martin Gardner after the game his friend C. L. Baker showed him, and it is the tougher of the two. The table is the same: all fifty-two cards dealt face up into eight columns, four free cells waiting in the corner and four foundations that collect each suit from Ace to King. The twist is in the building rule. Instead of alternating colours, cards in the columns must be built down in the same suit, so a seven of hearts can only rest on the eight of hearts. That one change closes many of the escape routes FreeCell players rely on and makes every free cell precious. In return, every card that can go home is safe to send there, so the table collects them for you automatically. Each deal is drawn from a bank that a solver has proven winnable, so a solution always exists, and the menu lets you drop to three free cells once four feel easy. Drag and drop with forgiving targets, tap-to-move, hints that follow a winning line, unlimited undo, a daily deal and full statistics make this historic variant a pleasure to master.
How to play
All cards are face up. Build columns down in the same suit; any card can fill an empty column. Each free cell holds one card. Move every suit A→K to the foundations. Runs move together when you have enough free space. Drag or tap; Hint (H), Undo (Z).
