About Aeroplane Chess: Sky Race
Aeroplane Chess: Sky Race is the Chinese classic Fei Xing Qi with a fleet of toy planes on a bright sky-blue board where every square of the track is painted in one of the four team colours. Roll a six to take off from your hangar, then race clockwise toward the runway at the centre. The fun is in the shortcuts: land on a square of your own colour and your plane leaps four squares ahead to the next one, and land on your colour's flight square to soar across the board along the dashed route, propeller spinning, skipping a whole corner. Chain a jump into a flight for a huge swing. There are no safe squares, so any plane you land on is sent straight back to its hangar, and if you overshoot the centre you have to bounce back by the extra steps. Only a six earns another roll. Two, three or four pilots can play, against computer opponents at three skill levels or real people online once you sign in, and a single possible move is made for you so the race keeps flying.
How to play
Tap the die to roll; a six takes off a plane. Tap a glowing plane to fly it. Land on your colour to jump 4 squares, land on your flight square to fly across. Planes you land on go back to their hangar. Overshoot the centre and you bounce back.
